Kaya's Answer's to Neruda's Questions

Tell me, is the rose naked or is that her only dress?

She’s naked.

Why do trees conceal the splendor of their roots?

Because underground is cooler than above ground.

Who hears the regrets of the thieving automobile?

The buildings.

Is there anything in the world sadder than a train standing in the rain?

Yes.  When people have no food and no water.  Not even sugar.

What do they call a flower that flies from bird to bird?

A butterfly!

Is it true that a black condor flies at night over my country?

No, but it is pitch black!

How did the abandoned bicycle win its freedom?

Using its motor!

And why did cheese decide to perform heroic deeds in France?

Cause the stage was so cheesey!

Where is the center of the sea?

The middle of the world!

Why do the waves never go there?

The center is too big!

Where can you find a bell that will ring in your dreams?

The middle of the ferris wheel!

Are they birds or fish in these nets of moonlight?

18 different colors of both.

Will our life not be a tunnel between two vague clarities?

If you be nice to them.

Or will life not be a fish prepared to be a bird?

Well…if you want it to be, it will!

What do they call the sadness of a solitary sheep?

A sock.  No, a mock.  No, a talk!

Do you not weep surrounded by laughter with bottles of oblivion?

No.
